As a Product Development Chemist, you will provide subject domain expertise on materials and processes failures, implement multiple technology developments from development to manufacturing support, and perform experiments to develop new products for urethanes, polymers, composites, and other business-driven needs. You will create material and application process specifications, communicate technical advice to internal and external customers, and remain current on new developments in the appropriate scientific fields. Additionally, you will provide leadership on root cause analysis for production issues encountered in scale-up and manufacturing of products in your subject domain, work with team members having different locations and backgrounds, and show good record-keeping methods while submitting reports in a reasonable time period. You will utilize tools such as DOE, Capability Analysis, and ANOVA to problem-solve or improve development, introduce improvements and product development alone or with teams with a potential benefit to the company, actively participate in 6S (organization and safety) activities, and follow all procedures and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry or materials science, with experience in product development and manufacturing support. Proficiency in experimental design and analysis techniques, such as DOE, Capability Analysis, and ANOVA, is essential. Strong communication skills are required to effectively convey technical information to both internal and external stakeholders.
