Backend Engineer

As a Backend Engineer at VALR, you will design, develop, and maintain Kotlin-based backend services, implement REST APIs and WebSockets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features. Your work will ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of our exchange infrastructure.

We are looking for candidates with extensive experience in backend development, proficiency in Kotlin, Java, or other JVM-based languages, and a strong understanding of REST APIs and WebSockets. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP, along with knowledge of CI/CD concepts, version control systems (e.g., Git), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is essential. Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities are also required.
