About this role

As a Foundry General Operator at De Pere Foundry, you will be responsible for various tasks including melt, metal processing, pouring, ram, core production, molding, shakeout, sand reclamation, and preparation. You will work closely with finishing, pattern shop, maintenance, and office personnel to enhance communication, improve quality, and reduce costs within foundry operations. Additionally, you will operate mobile equipment and cranes as assigned, and continuously strive for self-improvement through ongoing training.

Requirements

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Prior metal casting experience is preferred but not mandatory. The role requires the ability to work in an industrial setting, good written and verbal communication skills, and the capacity to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds. Applicants must be able to handle and operate various hand and power tools to prepare molds, cores, and melt areas according to job instructions. Frequent standing, bending, squatting, and climbing of ladders are required. Experience with forklifts and using overhead and jib cranes is beneficial. A pre-employment drug screen is mandatory.
